Virginia Wilson is the ultimate inner-urban City Gym woman. Smart, independent, stylish, the forty-something Darlinghurst resident can often be seen strutting ‘round the ‘hood, iPods in ears and long legs in high heel pumps. A high-flying art consultant with clients including Deutsche Bank, Dexus and Lend Lease, she’s been a member of City Gym for 8 years now. When not pumping weights at CG, she’s driving cattle on her 18th century homestead in Central West NSW.

Virginia has this to say about what it feels like for a girl…

"City Gym is a brilliant  place for a woman to do weights. At first glance, the weight floor can seem intimidating, but in reality the guys pay you no attention! Gay or straight, they’re there because they’re into themselves. So unless you treat it as a real world, you’ll be left alone to do your own thing. And if you do want to interact with the guys, they are courteous and helpful. I do have male friends who have found it intimidating, but I never have.”
